I buy gas from BP because the company still needs to spend Billions more than they already have. Also, the local owner of a BP franchise has nothing to do with the company's errors in causing and containing this catastrophe. If everyone in our country (I live in the US) foolishly acted like my friend Scott H., and decided out of misguided anger to cynically and fruitlessly boycott BP stations, we would not only hurt the company's ability to do everything they can to remedy the situation, we would hurt the innocent owners and employees of the local gas station franchises. For instance - children are having lemonade stands and donating all the money they make to charities that benefit the gulf.
